At Backyard Bowtique we will do everything possible to make sure your pets time at the salon is a pleasant as possible. Unfortunately, grooming can occasionally expose a previously hidden medical issue, or aggravate a current one. This can happen during or after grooming. Backyard Bowtique will not be responsible for any conditions or problems discovered during grooming.

Backyard Bowtique will not be responsible for accidental death of the pet as a result of any pre-existing health condition.

I understand that grooming of sick/elderly dogs is done so at my own risk.

Upmost care and caution will always be taken with your pet, but accidents can happen, especially with wiggly pups, cuts, scratches, nicks and quicking of nails could occur. Backyard Bowtique will inform you of any such instance.

MATTED COATS – I understand that if my dog’s coat is matted, it may need to be shaved off due to the Animal Welfare Act. Backyard Bowtique will not be liable for any after-grooming effects of de-matting, clipping or brushing procedures, or problems uncovered on a badly matted or otherwise neglected coat including, but not limited to, skin redness, bruising, itchiness, or self-inflicted irritations from excessive external scratching or rubbing. Whether a dog is matted is at the discretion of Backyard Bowtique. Backyard Bowtique will contact you prior to a shave off – if I refuse the shave off, I must collect my dog within 15 minutes and Backyard Bowtique will retain my deposit. Time and costs associated with dematting are unpredictable. I agree to pay whatever fees are incurred as a result of de-matting. I agree that Backyard Bowtique cannot be held responsible for the standard or grooming due to dematting/shave offs.

I agree that I have truthfully informed Backyard Bowtique if my pet has ever bitten another animal or human, or of they have any other aggressive tendencies. I agree and understand that I will be held solely responsible for any injury, harm or damage to property caused by my pet. Backyard Bowtique reserves the right to refuse to groom a pet in an unsatisfactory state, including, but not limited to, behavioural issues, fleas, ticks, other parasites or kennel cough.

Should Backyard Bowtique determine, at its sole discretion, that urgent veterinary care is required, I agree to pay all associated fees and costs. If my pet’s vet is not available, I authorise Backyard Bowtique to use its chosen vets.

MISSED AND OR CANCELLING APPOINTMENTS - Backyard Bowtique operates a strict policy on missed appointments and I agree to notify Backyard Bowtique no less that 24 hours before the booked appointment. If insufficient notice is given Backyard Bowtique will retain the 50% deposit of the estimated grooming charges. If appointments are regularly missed, full pre-payment of estimated cost will be required.

I agree that Backyard Bowtique may take photos or videos of my pet for portfolio, social media and other marketing purposes.

I agree to my contact details being stored to enable you to contact me by email, telephone, text and social media. I understand that this can be withdrawn at any time. Backyard Bowtique will not provide any data that we hold on you to any other person or business, except when required by law or insurances.
